She wanted everyone at SJC Long Island to know that we’re in this together.
That’s what inspired SJC Long Island junior Carly Credidio to orchestrate a video of herself and other students sharing a message of positivity to the College community during these trying times.
“The great thing about SJC is no matter the relationship I have with these students, they were all willing to participate in the video when they heard it was for SJC,” Credidio, 20, said. “That is how much the students love and trust the College and one another.”
Credidio reached out to friends and acquaintances alike via text, Instagram and Snapchat, with the goal of getting as many students from different organizations and sports as possible to help spread the words throughout the campus.
As a member of the women’s soccer team, president of Students Taking Active Roles in Society (STARS), an orientation leader, part of Campus Activities Board (CAB) and someone who participates in Campus Ministry events, Credidio misses being on campus and seeing her friends.
“I miss everything, but I mostly miss the atmosphere SJC creates and its welcoming environment that motivates me to get involved,” said Credidio, a business administration major with a minor in speech and economics. “I miss the smiling faces in the lounge from not only the other students, but even from the offices, such as student life, campus ministry and SGA.”
But Credidio knows that no matter how far apart they are, her SJC family is there for her through all this, just as she’s there for them.
“One thing I hope other students take away from this is that even though we are not physically together, we are all still here for one another,” Credidio said.
