Some of the students mentioned they liked the online class options. Others said the service opportunities and student life appealed to them. And most students were drawn in by the friendly environment.
In light of the College’s upcoming Open House events, OnCampus took to Instagram to ask SJC students and alumni why they chose to study at St. Joseph’s College.
“St. Joseph’s College was the best four years in my life,” said Instagram user @erinhickey744. “Especially being part of women’s tennis.”
A few students even reported that their decision to attend St. Joseph’s College stemmed from the Open House event itself.
“The smiles and warmth I received when attending the Open House led me to choose St. Joseph’s,” Instagrammer @book.worm.360 said. “I’m so happy I decided to attend.”
SJC Long Island is welcoming prospective first-year and transfer students and their families to Open House on Sunday, Oct. 24, where they will have a chance to meet and speak with professors, hear from students about clubs and organizations, learn about the admissions process and financial aid opportunities, and explore the campus.

Prospective first-year students are invited to attend SJC Brooklyn’s Open House on Sunday, Nov. 14.
“I fell in love with the small historic campus and loved that it was in downtown Brooklyn,” said Instagram user @dymond.nevaeh.

Graduate and Professional Studies
Those interested in graduate programs are invited to attend SJC Long Island’s Open House on Saturday, Nov. 6, and SJC Brooklyn’s Open House on Saturday, Nov. 20. SJC Long Island’s Adult Professional Studies Open House takes place on Saturday, Nov. 6.
“It felt like ‘home’ as soon as I stepped foot on campus,” Instagram user @kconde11 said of her decision to attend St. Joseph’s College.
Local adults interested in undergraduate or graduate programs with SJC Online can attend the Nov. 6 event at SJC Long Island.
“I chose SJC because of their online programs,” said Instagram user @ph0tomania. “It lets me focus on my work while getting my degree.”
