More than 30 clubs and organizations took part at the Long Island Campus’ annual Club Fair on Sept. 19 in the Danzi Athletic Center.
The gym was filled with students looking to get more information and possibly join one or more of the wide variety of groups available at St. Joseph’s University, New York. Campus clubs such as Creative Writing, History and the Campus Activities Board, as well as campus athletic teams and academic programs like Global Studies, had information tables set up on the gym floor. Co-vice presidents of the Campus Activities Board (CAB), Emma Koyl, a junior majoring in Speech Pathology, and Michaela Barresi, a sophomore nursing major, explained that CAB’s chief responsibility is to organize a number of important campus activities.
“We basically do all the campus activities … including the Welcome Back Barbecue, Valentines Day Build-a Bears and therapy dog events that are held right before midterms and finals,” Koyl said. “It’s for everyone, you don’t even have to be on the board to be in it.”
To get involved in CAB, students can email the board at cab.li@student.sjny.edu. Amongst the dozens of clubs students are also welcome to make their own.
