The Sisters of St. Joseph will hold a special tour of their campus in Brentwood on Oct. 28 from 10 a.m-2 p.m.
During the event, St. Joseph’s University students and other participants will have the opportunity to talk to several Sisters and learn about different areas in the ministry.
Jonathan Galo, the new director of Campus Ministry at St. Joseph’s University, New York’s Long Island Campus, will host the event. Born and raised in the Catholic faith, Galo saidhe has come to St. Joseph’s excited to embrace the spiritual diversity of the Long Island campus.
“I think for the work of Campus Ministry, it’s super important to carry on the charism of the Sisters, especially their dedication to service,” Galo said. “We must keep that spirit alive because if we lose that tradition, then we lose our identity as a school.”
For over 169 years the Sisters of St. Joseph have served the people of Long Island. They founded St. Joseph’s College, now known as St. Joseph’s University,New York, in 1916.
