Four of SJC Long Island’s spring athletic teams will represent the College in the 2017 Skyline Conference playoffs — all with the same goal: To take home an NCAA Division III championship. A productive showing in the spring playoffs will put SJC Long Island in excellent position to claim yet another President’s Cup.
Women’s Lacrosse
The St. Joseph’s College women’s lacrosse team earned its sixth-straight playoff bid, clinching the No. 2 seed in the Skyline Conference Championship. The Golden Eagles concluded their regular season campaign 8-8 (7-1), and will play SUNY Old Westbury at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 4.
Women’s Softball
The Golden Eagles finished to 19-15 on the year and 14-4 in conference play, good enough for second in the Skyline standings. The squad begin their quest for another Skyline Conference Championship, this Thursday, May 4, at top-seed Mount St. Mary. Live stats for the double elimination tournament will be available here.
Men’s Baseball
The men’s baseball team finished its regular season with a 24-12 record (15-3) to claim the 2017 Skyline Conference regular-season title. The team will host the Skyline Conference Baseball Championship starting on May 5-7. And if that wasn’t impressive enough, the baseball team earned the No. 7 ranking in the first New York Regional poll voted on by the NCAA.
Outdoor Track and Field
The Golden Eagles Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field squad heads Glassboro, New Jersey on May 6 to participate in the NJAC Championships. Qualifying athletes will then head to Westfield State University in Massachusetts for the ECAC Championships May 16.
