SJC Brooklyn was bustling with high school seniors Sunday afternoon, celebrating their acceptance to the College.
More than 160 students and their families attended Accepted Student Day — a big step toward joining the St. Joseph’s community.
Accepted Student Day attracted 23 percent more students than last year. The annual reception featured a general campus tour; specialized tours of the biology labs, the Dillon Child Study Center, nursing simulation labs and the campus’ athletic facilities; and a visit to the St. George Residence Hall located off-campus in Brooklyn Heights.
The attendees were an energized bunch: 52 percent of people participated in one-on-one financial aid appointments, and 33 percent took advantage of campus tours, according to statistics gathered by the admissions office.
By the end of the event, most of the future SJC Bears had purchased merchandise from the bookstore and put down their enrollment deposits for the 2019-20 academic year.
