Three local authors will give book talks at SJC Brooklyn over the next week, as part of the Brooklyn Voices lecture series.
Ann Patchett is on deck to discuss her suspense-laden novel, “The Dutch House,” on Sept. 26 at 7:30 p.m. in the Tuohy Hall auditorium. Tickets are $30, which includes a seat and a copy of Patchett’s book, which takes place in a Philadelphia suburb, shortly after World War II.
The Brooklyn Voices literary series is a partnership between the Greenlight Bookstore and SJC Brooklyn. The bookstore and College regularly team up to give local published authors the opportunity to hold discussions about their literary works.
Following Patchett will be Eric Foner, author of “The Second Founding: How the Civil War and Reconstruction Remade the Constitution.” Foner will discuss his book on Sept. 29 at 4:30 p.m. with Chris Hayes, an MSNBC journalist and political commentator. Tickets are $30, and include a seat and a copy of Foner’s book.
To top off the week, Mark Bittman will present his book, “How to Cook Everything — Completely Revised Twentieth Anniversary Edition: Simple Recipes for Great Food,” on Oct. 2 at 7:30 p.m. He will discuss his book on stage with food writer and cookbook author Melissa Clark.
Tickets to Bittman’s discussion are free with an RSVP. VIP tickets are $45 and include a pre-event reception and a copy of his book.
