Regina Cirigliano-Kieran ’94 is enjoying her 19th year of teaching in Brooklyn. She currently teaches eighth-grade language arts and reading in the Marine Park area. Regina also runs her school’s Builders Club, which earned an honorable mention for the New York City Department of Education’s first Service in Schools award. They were also honored at Gracie Mansion by Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, and met Chancellor Dennis M. Walcott. Last June, Regina was nominated for People magazine’s Teacher of the Year by DonorsChoose.org, an organization that connects donors with teachers who write grant proposals for their classrooms. One of her lesson plans was featured on The New York Times’ The Learning Network website, in the Great Ideas From Readers section. Regina recently celebrated seven years of marriage with her husband, Michael.
