SJC Brooklyn made its mark last week in an unusual place: the New York Times crossword puzzle.
Millions of players across the country racked their brains June 24 to come up with the namesake of the College as they reached 41 down.
The clue: “Brooklyn’s St. _ _ _ College.”
Word quickly buzzed across campus as faculty and staff alike stumbled upon the familiar clue. Colleagues shared emails bursting with Brooklyn Bears pride as they discovered the College’s presence in the nationally-renowned puzzle.
Longtime crossword puzzle creator William F. Shortz, who works remotely for the New York Times in Pleasentville, New York, penned the crossword.
