You’ve been cooped up in your house for so long, and you’re ready to get back out into the world; we know, we get it. And it seems that time has come — at least partially.
With summer weather almost in full swing and phase two of reopening Long Island in effect, it’s the perfect time to get outside, get some fresh air and enjoy some fresh food! So ditch the house robe and slippers and trade them in for some shorts and flip flops.
Here are five cool outdoor eateries now open for business:
1. View
Located on the Great South Bay in Oakdale, View’s Lobster Shack is a great option if you’re looking for a scenic place to enjoy a nice meal outside. Customers can choose to dine on their outdoor patio, eat dockside in their boat or take their meals to go.
2. JT’s on the Bay
Head to Blue Point for some waterfront dining at JT’s on the Bay. Their menu offers plenty of variety, with meals to make both the seafood fanatics and land lovers happy. Get ready to soak in the sun and relax in the laid-back atmosphere, while seated at one of their many outdoor tables.
3. The Oar Steak and Seafood Grille
Dine riverside in Patchogue at The Oar Steak and Seafood Grille. Whether you’re going for lunch or dinner, enjoy one of the delicious meals from their extensive menu, while taking in the view from their deck seating area.
4. Rumba
Hop in your car — or your boat — and head out east to Hampton Bays for Island-inspired cuisine, reggae music and a relaxed environment at Rumba. Located on the Shinnecock Bay, Rumba offers weekly specials, weekend brunch, handcrafted rum and a lovely view for outdoor dining.
5. The Purple Elephant
If you’re looking for Latin-inspired cuisine, The Purple Elephant in Northport is for you. The beachy eatery offers plenty of vegan, vegetarian and meat dishes, all of which can be enjoyed from their brand-new waterfront patio.
*NOTE: Customers who aren’t seated are still required to wear face masks. Waiters and waitresses are also required to wear face masks. Tables are placed six feet apart, and diners should still only be in close proximity with people they live with.
