Patrick Guerin ’15, ’17 and Adrianna Grecco ’13, who married in 2022, met on the Brooklyn Campus when Guerin set out to score some extra credit points for a music class at St. Joe’s.
“I had to write a review of the dance club show. I saw Adriana on stage in a KISS shirt—the rest is history,” said Guerin, who works as a special education teacher.
The two met in the cafeteria right after that show, but their relationship began two years later after connecting on a dating app.
“I remembered him from St. Joe’s, and I liked the familiarity as opposed to meeting a complete stranger,” said Grecco, a director of therapeutic recreation and volunteer services at a nursing home.
Grecco said she was “definitely smitten,” but did not want to jump quickly into the relationship.

“I wanted to take things slow,” she said. “But everything just felt natural, authentic, fun and comfortable—I fell for him pretty quickly. We had similar goals and the same values, both of which stemmed from St. Joe’s.”
Friends from SJNY were in their wedding party, including a co-best man, Timothy Dillon, and three bridesmaids—Christine Ghaney (who first introduced the couple), Michelle Greehy Direktor and Cassandra Guerrier.
In their spare time, Grecco and Guerin love to travel, whether it is to visit family and friends or just a quick getaway.
“Also, Disney has kind of become our home away from home. We are planning to go to Disney in other countries too,” noted Guerin.
When asked about their favorite date night, Guerin’s response was a Broadway show.
“Aww…. I’m surprised that’s his answer—he goes for me,” replied Grecco.
Grecco said a great date night is anytime where they get to spend quality time together—from cozy nights binging TV shows to nights out in the city.
St. Joe’s will always hold a special place in their hearts.
“Some of my best friends now are people I met there,” Grecco said. “All of these connections that literally changed the trajectory of our lives would not have happened without St. Joe’s and I’m so thankful.”
What is the secret to a lasting relationship? “Sugar, spice and everything Nice. But really, communication,” said Guerin. Grecco added, ““Communication, date nights, compromise, support. Remember you’re a team.”

Guerin popped the question at Belvedere Castle in Central Park.
The Proposal: Belvedere Castle in Central Park
As told by Grecco: “It was beautiful. He went all out. He made a scavenger hunt, and after finding each clue, there was a letter from my close friends and family in which they each shared what they loved about me. The last clue hinted to Belvedere Castle. I have a thing about castles and how they tie into fairytales—they’re beautiful. So even him incorporating that detail was touching. He proposed in front of our parents, siblings and some close friends with a photographer to capture it all. It was perfect!”
