Alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends are invited to celebrate all things SJC Long Island Thursday, Sept. 24, through Saturday, Sept. 26, during this year’s Golden Eagles Spirit Fest.
Whether you sign up for one of the virtual, interactive events or all of them, you’ll have the opportunity to connect remotely with the St. Joseph’s College community you know and love.

St. Joseph’s College Dash for Golden Eagles
Join the SJCNY community in an inaugural virtual 5k/10k run or walk. The first 200 participants will receive a keepsake runner’s bib and finisher medal.

Golden Eagles Scavenger Hunt
SJC Long Island’s mascot Hot Wyngz challenges you to a scavenger hunt. Participants must submit their photos of found items through a provided online form by midnight on Sept. 26. The first 25 people who successfully complete the scavenger hunt will receive an exclusive SJC blanket.

Lunch and Learn: Faculty Spotlight, Mindfulness Presented by Professor Thomas Petriano, Ph.D.
Thomas Petriano, Ph.D., professor and chair of religious studies, will present on the practice of mindfulness — being fully present and aware in the moment — to provide aid in stress management, anxiety and general well-being. The presentation will include a basic introduction to the concept and virtual demonstrations to practice in everyday life. Questions and discussion from the audience will be encouraged.

SJC Virtual Trivia
The St. Joseph’s Alumni Association invites you to an evening of trivia at one of the world’s most exciting virtual scenes. Former Director of Student Life Marian Russo and Director of Undergraduate Admissions and Admissions Operations Andrea Volk ’04 will host the event.
Saturday, Sept. 26
Accounting Program Reunion, 11 a.m.–noon
Meet with Assistant Professor Mary Chance, Accounting Chair Jennifer Mensche ’01 ’16, current students, and alumni to talk about all that is happening with the SJC accounting program. This meetup will provide a chance for alumni to reflect on their experiences as accounting majors and talk with current students about the impact that the major had on their career and professional life.
Golden Eagles Huddle, noon–1 p.m.
Alumni athletes are invited to join the Golden Eagles Huddle for a conversation with the newly appointed Director of Athletics and Recreation Melody Cope, as she provides updates with her staff and coaches on the current state of SJC Long Island athletics. Attendees will also hear from current and former student-athletes as they talk about leadership, teamwork and resilience during a time of cancelled sports. After the formal program, “locker rooms” will open for the athletics community to continue to network.
The first 50 alumni to sign up for an event and give a $10 donation to the Golden Eagles Athletics Fund will receive an SJC mask and T-shirt.
