“Lessons & Carols” took place Wednesday night at the Muriel & Virginia Pless Center for Performing Arts.
The holiday-time tradition included performances by the Long Island Campus Chorus; the Sharps; the campus’ instrumental ensemble; students from the American Sign Language club; the Drama Society; and St. Joseph’s President Donald R. Boomgaarden, Ph.D.; and other faculty and staff.
Organized by the campus’ Council for the Arts; Campus Ministry; and the Office of Student Involvement, Leadership and Intercultural Engagement, the event began with a welcome message from Anna Malzone, senior music lecturer, and director of the campus’ Council for the Arts, along with an opening prayer. Additionally, students and staff took turns reading scripture.
Following the performances, guests and participants were invited to the McGann Conference Center for a reception with light snacks and refreshments.
