Professional speaker Elaine Pasqua visited SJC Brooklyn and SJC Long Island last week, hosting a number of events for students ranging in topics from diversity and inclusion to drug and alcohol abuse, and sexual assault awareness.
“Here at SJC, we should strive to build a kinder and more gentle community, where people feel they can be their authentic selves to bring forth their unique perspectives and ideas,” Pasqua said.
Pasqua spoke to many students throughout the course of the week, presenting at 11 different events to freshmen, student leaders, student-athletes and members of Greek life. The Center for Student Involvement, Leadership and Multicultural Programming hosted the events.
“We want to provide an environment that is free of discrimination, so people feel truly valued as individuals,” she said.
Pasqua has worked with more than 650 universities nationwide, numerous professional and corporate organizations, athletic associations, the military and 31 pro athletic teams from the NFL, NBA and Major League Baseball. She has presented at St. Joseph’s College the past few years.
