St. Joseph’s University, New York hosted the annual New York State Middle School Association (NYSMSA) Regional Conference, a gathering of middle-level educators and professionals to support professional development in all academic and socially important areas.
The event last month was attended by nearly 200 educators and featured a keynote address, “Middle School: a Place to Connect, Thrive and Belong” from author and global speaker Charle Peck, M.Ed., MSW.
The event also featured a welcome from St. Joseph’s President Donald R. Boomgaarden, Ph.D., and workshops with presenters from local school districts on various topics, such us Artificial Intelligence, Culinary Arts, Grading and Mental Health.
“We have supported this conference and partnered with NYSMSA for the past decade,” said Shawn Robertson, Ph.D., associate professor of child study and conference co-chair. “It was wonderful to continue our partnership and welcome friends and colleagues from all over Long Island to our campus.”
