Thanksgiving is a time for reflection and sharing a warm and bountiful meal with loved ones. It’s also the time of year where SJC Brooklyn students, faculty and staff look forward to friendly competition to see who can donate the most goods to the annual Thanksgiving Food Drive.
This year, the campus’ Office of Campus Ministry asked students, faculty and staff to donate nonperishable food items to benefit Catholic Charities of Brooklyn and Queens. Offices and departments on the campus were assigned a specific food item.
Some of the requested foods include stuffing, canned vegetables, instant potatoes, rice, cereal, canned fruit and gravy.
Campus Ministry is collecting the items until Nov. 20. Donations can be dropped off in Tuohy Hall’s auditorium. Catholic Charities officials will pick up and give the items to local families in need, in time for Thanksgiving dinner.
