The Office of Alumni Engagement will host a virtual trivia night fundraiser Jan. 23 in remembrance of SJC Brooklyn alumnus Joseph Lewinger ’00, who died in March of COVID-19 complications.
During the event participants will split into teams, working together to answer trivia questions from several categories. The trivia night costs $25 to attend; registration fees will support the Joseph M. Lewinger ’00 “Mr. St. Joe’s” Endowed Scholarship for Future Educators.
Lewinger was a proud and devoted member of the St. Joseph’s College community, who found his passion in educating and empowering the young women at The Mary Louis Academy as an assistant principal. While at SJC Brooklyn, Lewinger earned the nickname “Mr. St. Joe’s” from the Office of Student Life staff, due to his energized personality and unconditional commitment to the College.
To pay tribute to him, the Lewinger Family established this scholarship to honor his life and service, and to continue Lewinger’s legacy of supporting dreams of higher education for aspiring teachers.
