St. Joseph’s College alumnus Steve Somers, owner and president of Vigon International, Inc. in East Stroudsburg, hosted students from the SJC Brooklyn Science Club at his facilities last week.
The 1982 graduate took the group, which also included students from St. Saviour High School in Brooklyn, on a tour through Vigon — a leading manufacturer of high-quality flavor and fragrance ingredients, including essential oils, oleoresins, botanical extracts and natural and synthetic aroma extracts.

Somers, a member of SJC’s Board of Trustees, spoke about career opportunities in the field. Somers purchased Vigon — one of Lehigh Valley’s fastest growing companies — in 1998. In 2016, Vigon, once again, was named one of the “Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania” by Team Pennsylvania.
