SJC Brooklyn’s Accepted Student Day reception on April 14 attracted 131 students and more than 300 total guests, said Christine Murphy, vice president for enrollment management at St. Joseph’s College.
The reception, an annual spring event held to welcome students who have been accepted to SJC Brooklyn for the following fall semester, featured an academic fair where students spoke with faculty and program directors about their academic interests, received financial aid counseling and had the chance to take part in a student life and athletic fair that provided key information about the dozens of clubs, organizations and NCAA Division III teams at SJC Brooklyn.
Throughout the day, students had the opportunity to tour the campus, located in historic Clinton Hill. Specialized tours were given of the Dillon Child Study Center, as well as the off-campus residence hall at St. George Towers in Brooklyn Heights and the nursing and biology labs on campus.
“Accepted Student Day is an opportunity for us to show our accepted students everything St. Joseph’s College has to offer,” said Christine Murphy, vice president for enrollment management. “For the students who attended the event, it was a chance to mingle with faculty, staff and students, as well as tour our beautiful campus.”
The event stirred quite a buzz across the College’s social media channels, as members of the campus community and fall 2018 incoming freshmen shared their excitement.
