The world-famous Harlem Wizards will be on campus Friday, Oct. 14, to provide some good old-fashioned show basketball to students, families and friends. It will be a night filled with tricks, hoops and alley-oops, so be prepared to laugh, cheer and be amazed.
The Wizards take on the Golden Eagles Basketball Alumni at St. Joseph’s University, New York’s Long Island Campus at 155 W. Roe Blvd. Doors at the John A. Danzi Athletic Center open at 6 p.m. for a 7 p.m. tip off.
Tickets are $10 for students, $20 for adults and are only available for purchase in advance. The online store closes at 4 p.m. Friday.
The Wizards describe the event as a Broadway show on a basketball court and encourage attendees to prepare for high-flying entertainment. From the time the Wizards step onto the court to themed music, a team of six players deliver a choreographed ‘trick and slam’ routine to a rocking gym!
The event kicks off Golden Eagles Spirit Fest this weekend — with plenty of fun planned for all — and coincides with the 25th anniversary celebration of the Danzi Center, the University’s athletics hub where many enjoy games and competitions, promote personal fitness and engage in recreational activities.
