Faculty and staff from SJC Long Island’s Department of Psychology celebrated their graduating seniors during a virtual get-together last month, honoring all they’ve accomplished throughout their four years at St. Joseph’s College.
“You came to SJC with a predisposition to help others, which of course made us like you from the get-go,” said Dominique Treboux, Ph.D., professor, who just completed her sixth year as chair of the psychology department. “And now here we are today. You are young professionals, standing with confidence.”
With students going on to varied paths in such fields as social welfare, school psychology, mental health counseling and research, the many faculty who have helped them grow and develop during their time at St. Joseph’s are excited for what their bright futures hold for them.
“Like all your families and friends, we’re so proud of you,” said Teresa Tannazzo, Ph.D., associate professor, director of undergraduate research and the new chair of psychology. “This is such a tremendous accomplishment in your life. As your now former professor, it’s so wonderful to know you’re moving on and out into the world with everything we’ve taught you.
“We’re just so happy you’re going to go out there and be your wonderful selves,” she added.
