SJC Online continued its streak of ranking on U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Online” lists, an accomplishment the campus has held for the past six years.
This year, SJC Online ranked on four lists: “Best Online Bachelor’s Programs,” “Best Online Bachelor’s in Business Programs,” “Best Online MBA Programs” and “Best Online Master’s in Business Programs.”
“Providing fine programs that educate the whole person has been the hallmark of the College’s founding order, the Sisters of St. Joseph, for over 100 years,” said SJC President Donald R. Boomgaarden, Ph.D. “These rankings by U.S. News and World Report show that St. Joseph’s College has successfully brought this commitment and reputation for excellence to online higher education. SJC Online is a recognized leader in providing precisely what today’s students need to thrive in their chosen fields: a value-based education at a reasonable cost.”
U.S. News & World Report ranks online colleges based on four general categories: engagement with instructors and classmates; services and technology incorporated into programs; faculty credentials and training; and expert opinion and how employers view candidates who hold degrees from each institution.
A Unique Value
“SJC Online has carved out a niche in the online higher education landscape because it brings the unique value proposition of a St. Joseph’s education to a rapidly growing community of learners,” said Amy Poland, Ph.D., associate dean and director for online learning at St. Joseph’s College. “With each passing semester and a great deal of hard work, our faculty and staff deliver the rich experience of an SJC education, characterized by affordability and academic excellence, to an increasing number of online students across the region.”
Established in 2015, SJC Online offers students in all 50 states the chance to get a top-tier education, rooted in a liberal arts tradition. SJC Online features more than 25 academic offerings, giving students the option to choose from exceptional undergraduate and graduate degrees, dual degrees, and certificates, all of which work around their busy schedule.
“SJC’s online program is easy to use, allows for meaningful interaction and engagement during courses, and has allowed me to fit school into an already-busy schedule,” said Brendan Fullam, who graduated from the College in 2008 with a B.S. in Organizational Management and who expects to graduate from SJC Online this spring with his MBA.
“By being able to complete my degree online while working full time, I’m able to more easily see that what I’m learning relates directly to my everyday work life and career path/goals,” Fullam continued. “The online degree program is allowing me to gain the necessary management skills I will need to further expand my career.”
