With service in their minds and love in their hearts, members of the student club Project Sunshine got together to bring cheer to children at Good Samaritan Hospital this Valentine’s Day.

The St. Joseph’s chapter of Project Sunshine, a national organization that helps bring happiness to pediatric patients across the United States, made bracelets and cards for the children at Good Samaritan during their February meeting. The crafts were delivered during the club’s hospital visit Feb. 9.
“Through collaboration and creativity, the members’ creations bring happiness and optimism to patients during a challenging time,” said sophomore nursing major Taylor Hanscom, the club’s president. “Project Sunshine’s executive board and members hold such events with the goal of bringing sunshine on a cloudy day to children across the nation.”
Throughout the semester, Project Sunshine will continue supporting numerous pediatric units through activities, fundraisers and monthly hospital visits.
Upcoming Efforts
Project Sunshine will join together with the American Sign Language (ASL) Club April 1 for a paint event to support the clubs’ philanthropic efforts. Throughout the spring semester, Project Sunshine is also running a Spring Raffle, with the goal of raising funds to buy an iPad and other necessary supplies for Good Samaritan Hospital’s pediatric department.
