The Long Island campus will host its annual Veterans Day Celebration, honoring those who have served, on Tuesday, November 12 at 12:45 p.m.
The Office of Military and Veteran Services will be joined by members of the Student Veterans of America (SVA), President Donald Boomgaarden and Director of Campus Ministry Jonathan Galo, as well as students, faculty and staff in the O’Connor Quad, for the annual ceremony which includes the presentation of 2024 SVA Challenge Coins to all veterans in attendance.
In addition, the SVA and History Club will host a Veteran History Symposium on Tuesday, November 12 from 6-8 p.m. in the Student Center Conference Room. Speakers are Alan Vitters, Ph.D., retired assistant professor; Col. US Army (Ret.); Infantry Officer and Vietnam Veteran, and Dave Mann, Sgt. US Army (Ret.); Combat Engineer; Vietnam Veteran; Two time Purple Heart Recipient and NYS Senate Veterans Hall of Fame member.
Also taking place next week is an Inner Peace, Warrior Style Meditation Formation on Thursday, November 14 during Common Hour in the Danzi Aerobic Room and a 9/11 Memorial Museum Trip on Friday, November 15.
