St. Joseph’s University, New York has earned national recognition from three organizations evaluating colleges and universities for academic quality, affordability, student outcomes and the overall college experience.
SJNY ranked No. 142 nationally in TIME’s inaugural 2026–2027 America’s Best Colleges rankings, placing the University among the top 30% of institutions nationwide. The University was also named one of Money’s Best Colleges in America, earning a 4.5-star rating, and was designated a 2026–2027 College of Distinction.

Recognizing Value and Student Success
Each organization used different criteria to evaluate institutions. TIME considered student outcomes, learning environment and attractiveness to prospective students, while Money assessed quality of education, graduation rates, affordability, financial aid and alumni outcomes. Colleges of Distinction evaluated schools based on engagement, teaching, community and outcomes.
The recognitions reflect several hallmarks of an SJNY education, including small class sizes, a 12:1 student-to-faculty ratio, robust academic programs, experiential learning opportunities and a commitment to compassionate service.
The University also continues to emphasize affordability, with tuition rates among the lowest of private colleges and universities in the region.
Together, the three recognitions highlight SJNY’s commitment to providing an accessible education focused on academic opportunity, personal attention and student success.
