On Oct. 7, the Campus Activities Board (CAB) at St. Joseph’s University, New York’s Long Island campus held their annual Build-a-Bear event.
Over the last three years the event has been a hit with students, giving them the opportunity to create their own stuffed animals while connecting with fellow members of the campus community.
“The Campus Activities Board’s Build-A-Bear Event is one of the most memorable campus-wide events of the fall semester,” said Michaela Reis, Co-Program Director for the Campus Activities Board. “The event fosters creativity, collaboration and community among the students at St. Joseph’s University.”
Through events like Build-a-Bear, CAB aims to create opportunities for students to connect outside of the classroom, allowing students to take a break from their busy schedules while participating in a fun activity.
“We continue to host this event because the Campus Activities Board believes it is a meaningful reminder that every student is supported, impacted and cared for in the St. Joseph’s University community. The stuffed animal a student creates is more than a keepsake; it is a reminder that each student is an important piece of the SJNY community. We are proud to play a small role in advancing the St. Joseph’s University mission and creating events that promote a sense of belonging among fellow students of the Long Island campus,” said Reis.
