On Oct. 21, the Student Government Association (SGA) at St. Joseph University’s New York’s Long Island campus held a Care Package Assembly event to help support those in need.
Reflecting the university’s commitment to service, student leaders volunteered their time to help assemble 100 care packages, including hand warmers, toothbrush kits, sanitizer wipes, mints and boxes of tissues.
“This event was a wonderful opportunity for our campus community to come together and spread kindness,” said Taylor Burns, Student Government Association Vice President.
After the event, the packages were donated to the Office of Campus Ministry to be distributed to the Light House Mission and the Sisters of St. Joseph to help support the organization’s ongoing efforts to provide assistance and essential resources to individuals and families in need.
“By doing this we were able to make a meaningful difference through small acts of compassion. It was a reminder that even the simplest gestures can have a lasting impact on someone’s day,” said Burns.
