If you stopped by the Danzi Athletic Center this past Wednesday, Sept. 7, it may have looked a little bit more like a clubhouse than a gymnasium. Embellished in banners, posters, tables, chairs and giveaways — SJC Long Island’s annual fall club fair represented over 50 on-campus clubs and organizations. Whether you’re an all-star athlete, the next Pablo Picasso, an aspiring politician, trying to build a Habitat for Humanity or looking to go Greek during your college career, SJC actively supports learning about yourself through clubs and activities. The diverse interests of students gives each one countless opportunities to develop new interests, make connections that matter, and continue learning.
If you happened to miss the clubhouse, no worries! Club meetings and activities are vigorously posted on the flat screen monitors located across campus. (So try to keep your eyes off your smart phone while passing through the halls.) And if you didn’t see anything you liked or have an idea — start your own club! The Office of Student Involvement and Leadership located in the new Student Hospitality Lounge is the place to go for any questions or concerns. Student Government Association (SGA) is another hotspot flowing with more information if needed.
