The student-run organization STARS (Students Taking an Active Role in Society) invites SJC Long Island students to help them with a timely service project — packing Easter baskets for local children — Friday, April 8, during Common Hour in the McGann Conference Center.
Once the baskets are packed, they will be donated to Branches Long Island, a nonprofit organization that provides necessities to those in need. Branches Long Island will hand baskets out over Easter to local families in need of Easter gifts.
“I am super excited and looking forward to this event because I love to see SJC students and STARS members come together,” STARS president Emma Tennaro, a sophomore Nursing major, said.
“To help pack Easter Baskets, so those families in need can celebrate this special holiday, and knowing that we are making children happy, makes me happy,” she continued.
The event will count as community service hours for students. Those interested in helping should fill out this Google Form.
