The Long Island Campus’ women’s swimming team is a College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team for the 14th consecutive semester.
The Golden Eagles produced a 3.40 cumulative team GPA for the fall 2022 term and are the only Skyline Conference team to earn the honor.
“Academic excellence is a standard we expect our student-athletes to achieve every semester,” said head coach Christopher Brandenberger, who’s in his sixth season with the program.
“I want our student-athletes to be great in everything they pursue in their lives, academically, athletically or in any other endeavor they take on,” he added.
Scholar All-America Teams must earn a GPA of 3.0 or higher in a specified semester. In the fall of 2022, 184 women’s teams at the NCAA Division III level were honored. Across Divisions I, II, III, and the NJCAA, 803 institutions received recognition.
In the pool, the team took third place at the Skyline Conference Championship for the third consecutive season and broke five school records at the two-day championship in January.
“I want every swimmer who comes through our program to have a great student-athlete experience,” Brandenberger said. “I want them to be a great student in the classroom and the best swimmer they can be in the pool.”
