St. Joseph’s College is continuing its commitment to academic success, as it moves up three places in U.S. News & World Report’s nationwide list of top colleges, in the Regional Universities — North category.
The prestigious list ranks colleges based on its graduation and retention rates, social mobility of graduates, faculty resources, expert opinion, student excellence financial resources and alumni giving. Last year, St. Joseph’s moved up nine slots on the same list.
SJC President Donald R. Boomgaarden, Ph.D., commended the entire St. Joseph’s community for the achievement of placing 59th on the list.
“A St. Joseph’s College education cultivates the whole person, preparing students for lives of service, success and meaning,” Dr. Boomgaarden said. “Our continued success in the U.S. News & World Report rankings, as well as many other publications, is both a validation of our unique mission and a testament to the hard work and dedication of our faculty, staff and, most importantly, our students.”
Additionally, St. Joseph’s was ranked among the Best Colleges for Veterans by U.S. News & World Report because of its high comprehensive rankings and eligibility in the 9/11 GI Bill Yellow Ribbon Program.
SJC was also ranked in the new Top Performers on Social Mobility category, which assesses the graduation rates of federal Pell Grant recipients in comparison to the graduation rates of non-Pell recipients, with more credit awarded to institutions with a higher percentage of Pell recipients among its student body.
