Golden Eagles coaches Tom Rotanz with the men’s lacrosse team and Richard Garrett with the baseball team were each named Skyline Conference Coach of the Year in their respective sports.
The announcement was made early last week, as the baseball team headed into the playoffs and a week after the lacrosse team finished a 7-7 season.
Garrett led the baseball team to a 19-11 regular season record, with five members of the team earning Skyline All-Conference accolades. Over the weekend, the team won the Skyline Conference Championship, winning both ends of a double-header against the United States Merchant Marine Academy on Sunday to earn the title.
It’s the fifth conference championship in the team’s history, and it gives the team an automatic bid into the Division III NCAA Baseball Tournament.
Additionally, lacrosse goalie Andrew Brust ’22 was named Defensive Player of the Year for the second-straight season, while five of his teammates received Lacrosse All-Conference Team honors.
