Spring events on the Long Island Campus continue, offering students opportunities to network, explore potential careers and have a little fun, too. Here’s a look at some recent events hosted by the SJNY’s Accounting and Business Society and two Greek organizations.
Accounting and Business Society

PFK representatives discussed breaking into the accounting industry.
On April 2, the St. Joseph’s University New York, Long Island campus had a visit from PKF O’Connor Davies, an accounting and advisory firm.
Courtesy of the Accounting and Business Society, three representatives from PFK came to speak to students about getting started in the accounting industry, networking and resources.
“PKF provides internship and networking opportunities for our members, such as the Freshway Pathway Program and Leaders of Tomorrow,” said Emilia Karolczuk, president of the Accounting and Business Society.
The members of the Accounting and Business Society thoroughly enjoyed this event because it allowed them to make connections and network, which will help them jump-start their careers once they graduate.
“PKF has come to campus several times, and they always work with us to provide these opportunities….This was a very successful event as PKF had a very welcoming experience, and our members had a learning and growing experience,” said Karolczuk.
Delta Phi Epsilon and Theta Phi Alpha

Many attended in support of both sororities and their fundraising efforts.
On April 11, Long Island campus sororities Delta Phi Epsilon and Theta Phi Alpha came together to raise money and celebrate spring and Easter with a bingo and raffle night.
At the event, attendees played 10 rounds of bingo and the sororities raffled off over 35 baskets.
“We’re excited to share that we raised over $2,000, which will be evenly split between Delta Phi Epsilon and Theta Phi Alpha,” said Vanessa Guarnieri, historian and fundraising chairperson of Theta Phi Alpha.
This fundraiser will help both sororities organize multiple engaging events for not only their members, but the entire SJNY community for the next year.
“Our members worked so hard to make these baskets, and we are so proud of everyone that was involved!” said Anna Reardon, vice president of equity and belonging at Delta Phi Epsilon.
