O’Connor Hall • SJC Long Island
SJC Long Island’s main building was dedicated as O’Connor Hall in 1997, in honor of its fifth and longest-serving president, S. George Aquin O’Connor, C.S.J. She shepherded the College through its transition to a coeducational institution and during its expansion to Long Island. During her 28-year tenure, she pushed for curriculum changes that included the additions of SJC’s first graduate program, Weekend College and what is now called the School of Professional and Graduate Studies. S. George Aquin retired as president in 1997.
