Clare Rose Playhouse • SJC Long Island
Tucked into the northeast corner of SJC Long Island, the playhouse is named after Patchogue businessman Clare Rose, then owner of beverage distribution company Clare Rose, Inc. Mr. Rose helped fund a project that converted what had been a vacant caretaker’s cottage into an intimate New England barn-style theater. The playhouse opened in 1985. It still serves as a teaching facility for theater courses and community theater.
