The Hill Center • SJC Brooklyn
The long-awaited athletic facility – a LEED-certified building for its resource efficiency – was named in 2014 in honor of S. Elizabeth A. Hill, ’64, C.S.J., J.D., SJC’s sixth president. Under her leadership, there was an increase of faculty, a focus on diversity initiatives and the establishment of the Council for the Arts. The College also made vast improvements in technology with a college-wide, high-speed fiber optic network, installing an online library system, and utilizing the internet to put SJC on the map. S. Elizabeth also presided over a building boom on both campuses. The center implements measures aimed at achieving high performance in sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality.
