As the semester came to a close at St. Joseph’s University, New York, the Long Island campus took some time to help students de-stress before finals with a few fun and relaxing events.
Study Fest
Hosted by the Office of Student Involvement, Leadership and Intercultural Engagement, students were able to enjoy breakfast, hang out and relax between studying for finals.
De-Stress Event
Hosted by the Campus Activities Board (CAB), Peer Health Educators and Center for Counseling and Wellness, students were able to participate in rock painting, slime making, friendship bracelet making, while also meeting service dogs and enjoying refreshments.
“This de-stress we also had three dogs to hang out with. Two sisters, Finley and Smurf, and Jake the golden retriever, who has been coming to our de-stress event for years now,” said Gavin Hughes, co-program director of CAB. “Along with these activities, we also had an iced coffee bar, which brought a lot of people to the event, as they had the option to make their own iced coffee with an assortment of syrups and other options. Overall, the students really enjoyed the event, and we hope they are now relaxed and ready for finals!”
Campus Day Party AKA “The Darty”
Sponsored by Student Life and the Office of Student Involvement, Leadership and Intercultural Engagement, students were able to make their own graffiti shirts with Graff Lab Studio as they enjoyed food, ice cream and music.
“The Darty was such a fun event because it gave everyone a chance to relax, hang out with friends and enjoy the atmosphere together,” said Bryan Frascogna, Student Government Association vice president. “It was great seeing so many students come out and be involved on campus.”
